MicroStation Standards

Seed files are currently located at M:/CADD/CA/SD/Road/ustn/seeds_Caltrans

Seed files (from Caltrans (survey Karen Koklich) email dated 8/15/2007.  Apparently earlier files may have been based on an incorrect seed.  How to check?  Global origin (go=$) and working units under Settings>Design File...

The current v8 seed file is essentially the v7 (MicroStation/J and earlier) seed that has been ported to v8.  The leveling is the same 1-63 with the descriptions from the old .lvl file. I often refer to this as a v7+ configuration versus the upcoming bazillion-level standard that will be revealed by CalTrans no earlier than Jan 2008.

InRoads Standards

Everything in InRoads is customizable.  The settings are stored in a "Preference" or ".xin" file.

For 805 Managed Lanes we will be using InRoads v8.9.  I am currently updating an InRoads Preference file for CalTrans v7+ standards. 

The InRoads v8.9 Preference file is stored at M:/CADD/CA/SD/Road/InRoads/Settings_Files/. Copy it to your working directory and use it. 

This file will always be in the process of being updated.  Managing changes to your xin file is described at Manage Changes in InRoads Settings.

Major change: eventually

As of yet, CalTrans does not have InRoads standards (nor will they anytime soon) and the MicroStation v8 level standards have not been officially released nor defined. 

I expect to be able to modify the .xin file to the new v8 standards shortly after they are released.
