Brown Bag #1 AgendaWednesday, August 22, 2007 Overall Goal: Share Info and Expectations (Get on the same page).MicroStation v8 / InRoads Statusv7/v8?What is the deliverable? Is it ms/j (v7) or v8? We need to decide when v7 format must be maintained. If often there are ways to manage v7 deliverables using v8.

Short Term PlanThe short term plan is to use the current standards (work in progress) rather than use the old "standards" currently in place (this is particularly true for InRoads). Note I-805 Managed Lanes project has approved MicroStation seed files, make sure you are using them! I'll try to minimize the need for any data translation as the standards evolve (including the Quantum Leap to the upcoming CalTrans v8 standards). I develop migration tools as needed for this and take the heat for any translation work. Are you encouraged to or discourage from using the Bentley Select Services that we already pay for? I really like the "Is there a way to...?" questions. InRoads Data Management - Jeff MicroStation File Management - who? Jason? Mario? QC/QA Processes and Roles Discussion. Are there production pains? I'd like to know so that we can affect a plan and schedule for improvements. Think of InRoads as Civil Engineer's GIS system. Example: Utilities can be easily integrated into InRoads 805 - Consensus of Desired "Level of Integration" |
