What's New - Jan. 9

There has been a lot of work done on the Roadway Group Software environment.

We're at a point where everyone working in InRoads needs to commit to moving away from the old levels and InRoads files and start banging on the latest configuration to shake out the bugs.

I have a lot of documentation to do over the next day or so, both for our internal use and for regional office use.  So what is currently vague or unclear in this "newsletter" should be fully documented very soon.

Completed "Milestones"

  • Roadway Configuration "Extrapolation" phase is over: we're now in the "filling in the details" phase.
  • Xini Manager: New Version now allows you to merge your stash(es) with the master to create your working Preference file.
  • Drainage Levels set up and integrated within InRoads and Storm&Sanitary (I still need to create Drainage Options Preferences for facilitating Inlet Layout).
  • The first "custom QC" InRoads XML report style sheet has been created (for Superelevation).  More to follow.  Expect full documentation soon.

What should you be doing now, Roadway People?

If you're using InRoads, you should not be using old .xin files.  Anything based on the old civ_khaCT7+.xin will only cause you misery. Anything more than two weeks old is significantly impoverished compared to the most recent .xin.  There has been a lot of work in the new Roadway Configuration InRoads Preference file (civ_roadway_superset.xin in M:/CADD/CA/SD/Road/InRoads/Settings Files).

Next on the Agenda

Filling in the details

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses!  What's not working?  Let me know.  How? By putting it in The List.  From The List we'll establish priorities for things that need fixing.

Plotting needs work, dimension styles, what else?  Put it in the List.

If you have brilliant ideas or even just okay ideas, put them on the list.
