InRoads Workflows
Workflows are "Step Lists" that achieve a particular engineering goal.
They are typically not detailed "step-by-steps" or software skill builders,
though they may link to them.
Big Picture Note #1: Stop thinking in 2D. Even though our sheets are 2D
(and a certain software package used by CalTrans is essentially a "sheet
program") InRoads is an integrated, Civil Engineering true-3D design
package. It is designed to optimize viewing and creating 3D relationships.
Big Picture Note #2: InRoads has been around for about twenty years.
If you are doing something very repetitive or using your CAD package to do
figure out some 3D relationship (manual offsets in profiles, for example) there
is almost certainly a better way to do it in InRoads. The InRoads Users
Community has a long history of getting "step reduction" improvements
to InRoads techniques (it's one reason why you find so many toggles in InRoads
commands).
Rule of Thumb: If it's a Pain in the A@@, then you're probably doing it
wrong. Please seek advice.
